Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I wash away from a hose bib with the original kit?
Yes. Its included locking container supports a documented 450 PSI and 0.85 GPM working setup, distinct from tap-fed operation.
Explore this need in the finder →Do I have to buy a battery and charger separately?
The original delivery list includes both. Confirm that an older offer still contains the correct supported components.
Explore this need in the finder →Will it give me 500 working PSI when I use the container?
No. The handbook assigns 500 PSI to tap water and 450 PSI to the container setup.

The Yard Force YF4050PB answers a particular question: how do you rinse an outdoor item when the nearest hose bib and outlet are inconvenient? Its original North American manual describes a 40-volt battery washer with a removable water container that locks onto the base. You use a separate spray gun and a 19-foot high-pressure hose, rather than holding the motor and battery at arm's length.
This is an earlier design documented in a 2015 operator manual. It should be judged as that specific model and kit, not as a promise that a similarly named modern Yard Force battery or cleaner will interchange. Its strongest case is convenient household cleaning at a modest working output. It is not a small replacement for a commercial gas machine.
The water source changes the working output
One unusually helpful feature of the handbook is that it separates two operating conditions. With its container, it lists 450 PSI working pressure and 0.85 GPM flow. On tap water it lists 500 PSI and 1.00 GPM. The 800 PSI maximum is a different headline figure; it should not replace either working value in a comparison.
For your decision, that means the cordless, container-fed setup trades some output for independence from a continuous water connection. Choose it because it solves access, not because you expect the tank to improve cleaning force. Moving the machine to a tap does not make it an 800 PSI continuous cleaner either. The two documented working pairs remain distinct in our matching information.
Useful distance between the base and your hands
The high-pressure hose lets the base stay on a smooth, stable surface while you handle the gun and lance. This can feel more practical than carrying an entire handheld cleaner during a longer rinse, although actual handling comfort has not been tested here. Plan your position around the hose's 19-foot length and avoid stretching a connection around sharp corners.
The water container must be properly seated, its cap-shaped filter secured and the locking hook engaged. It is a functional water-supply assembly, not just a loose bucket that can sit anywhere near the pump. Fill it with clean water and keep its filter clear. The handbook does not establish unrestricted suction from an arbitrary remote barrel, so this review does not promise that capability.
Three rinsing tips and a separate soap bottle
The delivered-parts list specifies zero-degree, 15-degree and 40-degree spray tips, plus a detergent bottle. The 40-degree tip is the gentler pattern to consider first on a suitable vulnerable surface. The concentrated zero-degree jet requires particular caution; lower output than a large washer does not make it harmless to paint, tires or skin.
To use detergent, stop the washer and fit the detergent assembly as directed. Switch back to the appropriate rinsing arrangement afterwards. A soap bottle is included, but a rotary turbo nozzle and a wide surface cleaner are not listed as part of this original kit. Those are different accessories and should not be silently substituted into the package.
Battery ownership matters as much as water access
The original delivery list includes one battery and one charger, with the specification identifying a 40-volt, 4 Ah battery. The charger is documented for 100–120 volts, 50/60 Hz. That makes the reviewed kit more complete than a bare tool, but an older offer may omit or replace components. Verify that its battery and charger are the correct supported types and in suitable condition.
No guaranteed cleaning duration follows from the battery capacity. The amount of water available, interruptions, the work itself and battery condition all matter. The handbook requires an initial charge and describes charging and storage precautions. If you want to run from batteries already used by another tool brand, do not assume that the shared voltage number establishes compatibility.
Who should choose this earlier model?
The YF4050PB suits a household that values a self-contained water source and a separate hose-and-gun format for vehicles, outdoor equipment and occasional exterior jobs. Its intended-use instructions expressly exclude commercial, trade and industrial applications. A large stained driveway or daily paid cleaning is a poor reason to choose it.
Before buying, confirm the exact model, complete locking container, filter, 19-foot working hose and supported battery kit. Its merit is a coherent portable setup with clearly distinguished working conditions. If those parts are incomplete, the low price of an older body alone may not solve the cleaning problem you actually have.
