SPX4003-ELTIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A homeowner with garden water and suitable 120 V power who wants selectable working modes for vehicle and household surfaces.

The main tradeoff

The hose hangs on a holder rather than winding onto a reel, and the reviewed package has no turbo nozzle or surface cleaner.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it clean a car and household siding?

Both are documented uses with the appropriate nozzle and surface precautions. The machine needs a suitable electrical outlet and pressurized water.

Is there a real lower-pressure operating setting?

Yes. LOW is rated 1130 PSI/.8 GPM and HIGH 1650 PSI/1.1 GPM. Spray-tip width is a separate selection.

Does it have a hose reel?

No. The reviewed package uses a hose holder. If a reel is essential, this model will not meet that answer.

A two-setting washer for household jobs

The SPX4003-ELT is worth considering when your main requirement is an electric washer with a genuine LOW/HIGH operating choice. It combines that switch with a wheeled upright frame, an onboard detergent tank and five interchangeable spray tips. The practical compromise is its storage system: you hang the hose on a holder rather than winding it onto a crank reel.

This review concerns the SPX4003-ELT described in the 2019 original manual. The model suffix matters. Do not assume that another Sun Joe with a similar pressure headline includes the same hose arrangement, nozzle set or operating modes.

What LOW and HIGH mean in use

The technical table specifies LOW at 1130 PSI with .8 GPM and HIGH at 1650 PSI with 1.1 GPM under typical working load. Those pairs are the useful basis for deciding whether the machine meets a working-output requirement. The much larger 2250 PSI maximum and 1.65 GPM maximum should not be combined into a fictional simultaneous cleaning setting.

The distinction matters when comparing tasks. A person asking for at least 1500 working PSI can evaluate the HIGH setting. Someone requiring 1.2 working GPM cannot take that number from the maximum-flow headline and assign it to HIGH. There is no need to know these figures to begin the questionnaire, but they should remain accurate when a buyer deliberately adds an output requirement.

Five tips provide different applications

The supplied set contains0-, 15-, 25- and 40-degree rinse tips plus a black soap tip. The manual’s guidance connects the broader applications with vehicles, siding, decks and hard household surfaces. The correct starting choice depends on the finish and its condition. Test an inconspicuous area and use the instructed distance and nozzle before attempting a larger section.

A narrow tip should not become the default simply because it looks more forceful. Soft wood, loose paint, seals and fragile trim can be damaged. Equally, switching to a wide fan does not mean the surface is automatically safe. The LOW/HIGH switch and the spray-tip selection are two separate decisions.

There is no turbo nozzle or surface cleaner in the reviewed carton list. That is useful to know before treating this package as equivalent to another cart supplied with those accessories. A compatible accessory and an included accessory are different buying propositions.

Soap is included, with a change of stage

The 1.6-liter tank keeps approved cleaning solution on the machine. Soap application uses the black nozzle; the other colored tips are for rinsing. This is a convenient included arrangement for a wash-and-rinse sequence, but it is not detergent injection at the HIGH rinse pressure and flow.

Follow the cleaner’s directions and Sun Joe’s application steps. Do not let solution dry on the surface. Rinse the detergent system as instructed after use rather than leaving a partially used mixture in it for the next job. For a buyer who just wants basic soap application without selecting a separate bottle attachment, this onboard arrangement is a meaningful advantage.

Allow for two supply connections

The washer requires the documented 120 V/60 Hz, 14.5 A supply and clean pressurized garden water. Its cord is 35 feet long and its high-pressure hose 20 feet. These are separate lengths with different roles; neither removes the need to position the washer sensibly. Route both away from traffic and keep electrical connections dry and off the ground.

The manual describes a reinforced garden hose at least half an inch in diameter and a water supply able to meet the machine’s demand. It does not turn the washer into a self-priming bucket cleaner. Its inlet limit is 104°F. Connect water, purge the line and follow the start sequence before operating the pump.

Storage is part of the purchase decision

The wheels help move the cart between positions, while the hose holder and accessory storage keep loose parts together. If your garage routine depends on winding a hose quickly onto a reel, this model may not suit that priority. After cleaning, shut down, unplug, turn off the water and release trapped pressure before disconnecting. Protect the drained machine from freezing.

Choose the SPX4003-ELT for its two documented working settings and included soap arrangement. Choose another configuration if you need an actual reel, a battery water-container setup or an included broad-area attachment. None of those needs can be fixed by a larger maximum-PSI number.
