Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I reduce pressure without only widening the fan?
Yes. This exact manual describes a pressure-adjustment knob separately from the fan/pencil spray-pattern control.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the box contain the soap bottle?
No. The manual identifies SPX1DT as sold separately. A requirement for included soap application is not met by the reviewed package.
Explore this need in the finder →Will this wash a vehicle where there is no garden tap?
The documented setup needs pressurized garden water. It is not a confirmed bucket-draw cleaner.

The SPX200E is a compact residential electric washer for someone who values a straightforward machine rather than a tall wheeled cart. Its most useful detail is easy to miss: the reviewed manual describes an actual pressure-adjustment knob as well as an adjustable spray pattern. These are separate controls, so it is inaccurate to describe this model as merely changing the fan angle.
The tradeoff is equally straightforward. The standard package is a rinse setup. Sun Joe identifies the SPX1DT detergent bottle attachment as an accessory sold separately. If your plan depends on opening the box and applying soap immediately, include that extra requirement in your comparison.
Read the lower working rating correctly
The 2020 MR5 manual rates the machine at 870 PSI and 1.32 GPM under typical load. Its 1350 PSI maximum and 1.45 GPM maximum remain separate maximum figures. For a buyer comparing working output, the rated pair is the meaningful starting point, not a combined pair made from the two larger numbers.
This does not mean you must select a PSI target before shopping. Start with where you will work and what you will clean. The rated figures become useful when deciding whether a specific output requirement is essential. Someone who needs a higher documented working pressure should select another washer, rather than assuming a narrow jet changes the underlying rating into a higher-output machine.
Pressure and pattern solve different problems
The spray assembly has a low-to-high pressure control and a separate control for a wider fan or concentrated stream. Use those distinctions deliberately. Pressure selection changes the operating setting; pattern selection changes how the water is applied. Neither is a guarantee that a damaged, soft or delicate surface can tolerate a particular treatment.
The manual describes light-to-medium residential work including vehicles, decks, siding and patio furniture. That is a more useful scope than promising every outdoor stain can be removed. Start cautiously on an inconspicuous area and follow the surface owner’s restrictions. Keep the jet away from people, animals and live electrical equipment.
A small body still needs a planned working route
The supplied high-pressure hose is 20 feet and the power cord 35 feet. A compact body may be easier to place in a small storage area, but you still have a garden-water hose and an electrical lead to manage. Decide where the washer will stand before connecting it, and avoid arranging the job so that the hoses have to be pulled across sharp edges or traffic.
This reviewed version has no wheeled cart or hose reel. That suits a shopper who prefers a simpler arrangement and can reposition it when needed. Someone who wants to roll the unit around a vehicle or wind the outlet hose onto the machine should choose those features explicitly. Compact appearance should not replace checking the actual carrying requirements for your situation.
Soap requires the additional attachment
The manual allows an approved detergent arrangement through the separately sold SPX1DT bottle. This establishes accessory compatibility, not an included soap system ready in the carton. The distinction matters in a questionnaire: “supports detergent with an extra attachment” should not pass a question asking for soap application in the reviewed standard package.
The complete carton list also does not include a turbo nozzle or a surface cleaner. A buyer who mainly cleans broad paving areas may prefer to compare a package supplied and documented with an appropriate attachment, rather than adding that assumption to this compact washer.
Water and electrical setup come first
The electrical specification is 120 V, 60 Hz and 10 A. The manual supplies a GFCI-cord arrangement and asks for a clean pressurized garden-water feed. It describes a reinforced garden hose at least half an inch in diameter with enough supply for the washer. The inlet temperature limit is 104°F. There is no documented unpressurized bucket-draw configuration in this manual.
Purge air from the water route before operating, keep electrical connections dry and follow the instructed shutdown and pressure-release sequence. Empty and protect the machine from freezing in storage. Choose this earlier SPX200E reference for its compact rinse arrangement and genuine pressure control; choose a different setup if wheels, an included soap bottle or off-tap portability are essential.
