SPX2000-RMIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Residential vehicle, siding and deck work where an adjustable wand and nearby cold-water tap suit the routine.

The main tradeoff

RM identifies a remanufactured product, not a new retail edition. Its 1.59 GPM figure is a maximum-rated flow and is not established as simultaneous with 1160 rated PSI.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I lower pressure without treating a wider fan as a regulator?

Yes. The original wand has a pressure adjustment control as well as a separate spray-pattern adjustment. Always stop the trigger before making the documented adjustment.

Does the RM version mean it is the same as a new boxed washer?

No. The original cover explicitly identifies a remanufactured product. The actual condition, supplied accessories and applicable seller terms need checking separately.

Can the included tank apply soap at the 1740 PSI headline?

No. The instructions require the low-pressure wand setting for detergent. The 1740 PSI maximum and 1160 PSI rated pressure do not describe that soap stage.

Understand the remanufactured version first

The Sun Joe SPX2000-RM is an earlier remanufactured electric pressure washer. The RM suffix is significant: the original documentation thanks the purchaser for buying a remanufactured product. It should not disappear from a comparison or be treated as proof that an offered machine has the condition and terms of a new retail unit.

Its practical appeal is a simple wheeled setup with a removable detergent tank and an adjustable spray wand. If you prefer one wand with controls rather than changing several quick-connect rinse tips, that arrangement is worth considering. The actual machine, seals, hose and cord still need to be in appropriate condition.

Two adjustments do two different jobs

The original instructions describe a pressure adjustment from low to high and a separate nozzle adjustment between narrower and wider spray patterns. This is stronger evidence of pressure control than a product description that only says adjustable fan. It is useful when your selection specifically calls for a documented pressure adjustment.

It does not make every material safe to clean. Choose the correct setting and technique for the particular surface, follow the instructions and test appropriately. Do not adjust the nozzle while holding the trigger open. A control is a way to manage the setup, not a guarantee against stripping paint or marking timber.

The headline and working figures are different

The exact technical table gives 1740 maximum PSI and 1160 rated PSI. It also gives 1.59 GPM as maximum-rated flow. That wording does not establish that the full flow and rated pressure occur together under the same working condition.

Use the rated pressure when comparing a precise pressure requirement. Do not multiply independent figures to manufacture a cleaning score, and do not substitute the maximum pressure for the smaller rated value. A task requiring more than 1160 documented working PSI needs a different verified specification.

Soap is a separate low-pressure step

The supplied removable tank holds 30.4 fluid ounces of suitable detergent. The instructions require the low-pressure, fan-spray setting to apply it; high pressure is used for rinsing. Having a tank therefore does not mean the machine sprays detergent at its maximum-pressure headline.

Choose cleaning agents formulated for the washer and surface. The original instructions exclude bleach, solvents and other unsuitable chemicals. After use, the detergent path and tank need cleaning so dried solution does not block the system. This is part of the routine to budget time for, rather than a feature that eliminates cleanup.

Match the hose layout to the work area

The documented outlet hose is 20 feet long and the GFCI power cord is 35 feet. The rear hose holder stores a coil; it is not an integrated reel. Position the washer so the inlet hose, working hose and electrical connection all remain appropriate while you move around the task.

The pump needs clean supplied water, not dirty water scooped from a container. The instructions describe a reinforced garden hose, adequate flow and a maximum inlet temperature of 104°F. They also warn about backflow and potable-water connections. Follow the permitted supply arrangement and local requirements rather than assuming a hose adapter settles those questions.

A specific fit for an earlier household machine

The original intended-use section includes vehicles, decks and siding. It specifies residential use only. That makes the SPX2000-RM a household reference, not a commercial-duty recommendation merely because a seller describes demanding cleaning work.

The machine reference weight is 17.4 pounds, with wheels for moving it on suitable ground. Storage must protect the pump from freezing. Consider this model when the adjustable-wand routine fits your supplies and tasks and you understand the remanufactured condition. Look for a different documented configuration when you need an included rotary surface cleaner, longer working hose, a reel or confirmed bucket-water operation.
