Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I change pressure at the gun?
The manual documents remote pressure control that adjusts working pressure and water volume. It is separate from choosing a fan tip.
Explore this need in the finder →Will a car-and-deck setup work without an outlet?
The engine removes the outlet requirement, and both tasks are covered. It still needs the specified pressurized water supply and outdoor engine placement.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it draw wash water straight from my unpressurized bucket?
The reviewed instructions specify a garden-water supply of at least 4 GPM. They do not establish an unpressurized bucket-draw setup.

The G 3500 OCT suits someone who wants a gas washer with control at the working end of the hose. Its remote pressure control adjusts both working pressure and water volume. That is a practical difference from a washer that only offers a selection of fan tips. It can reduce trips back to the machine when the task changes, although the operator still has to choose a suitable nozzle and protect the surface.
This is the G 3500 OCT, part number 1.107-261.0, covered by Kärcher’s December 2014 manual. Treat it as an earlier model reference. Its KXS 302 engine and operating instructions should not be replaced with specifications for a different Kärcher gas package with a similar name.
Water supply is a major requirement
The manual lists 3500 PSI operating pressure and 3.2 GPM water volume for this machine. These are the documented operating figures used for comparison; they are not an invitation to assume every lower-pressure control position maintains the same flow. The remote control changes both variables, and the manual does not provide a separate numeric curve for every position.
More importantly, the inlet supply must provide at least 4 GPM through a garden hose at least 5/8 inch in diameter. A large output specification is of little use if the tap and inlet hose cannot feed the pump. Check the actual supply before choosing this class of washer. The documented water route is a pressurized cold-water source, with an inlet limit of 122°F, not a self-priming bucket arrangement.
Match the tip to the surface
The supplied quick-connect set includes 0-, 15-, 25- and 40-degree rinse tips plus a 65-degree black detergent tip. The manual’s cleaning guidance covers decks, vehicles and cement, brick or stone surfaces. It also explicitly warns against the red0-degree tip on soft materials such as siding, decks, painted surfaces and cars.
That warning is central to the buying decision. This is not a machine to choose on the assumption that more pressure makes every task easier. Start with a suitable broad pattern and cautious distance, test a hidden area and follow the exact surface restrictions. A damaged coating or vulnerable trim can need a different method entirely.
Detergent comes through a pickup tube
The included suction tube and filter draw approved detergent from a separate container. You fit the black detergent nozzle and follow the manual’s control setting for the soap stage. The soap container is therefore part of your work setup rather than an included onboard tank.
Detergent application happens at low pressure. It is not delivery at the full 3500 PSI rinse rating. Use the recommended cleaner, keep it from drying on the surface and flush the pickup system with fresh water after use. Bleach, solvents and other excluded chemicals do not become acceptable because the machine has a detergent tube.
Gas freedom comes with engine responsibilities
A gasoline engine removes the mains-outlet connection. It does not remove the water hose or make the washer appropriate for indoor use. Run an engine outdoors, well away from doors, windows and air intakes; an open garage is not a safe substitute for outdoor placement. Stop the engine and allow it to cool before refueling.
The manual directs the owner to the engine’s instructions as well as the washer instructions. Oil checks, fuel handling and scheduled service are part of ownership. That makes this a different proposition from an electric washer used for occasional short jobs near the house.
Movement and storage
The frame has wheels, a handle and a hose holder. A holder keeps the outlet hose with the machine; it is not a reel. A turbo nozzle and surface cleaner are not included in the reviewed package. The manual mentions a DirtBlaster accessory separately, so do not assume it arrives with this washer.
After use, stop the engine, shut off the water and release trapped pressure before disconnecting. Follow the specified winterization procedure and protect the pump from freezing. Choose the G 3500 OCT when its remote control and documented gas-powered working configuration solve your task. Choose a compact electric or portable cleaner if simpler storage, lower setup demands or container-fed light rinsing matter more.
