Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does it include the same soap bottle as PW1750?
No. The exact PW1550 component list lacks that bottle. The generic detergent discussion does not establish an included soap setup.
Explore this need in the finder →Can its 1550 PSI headline satisfy a working-pressure requirement?
The original table labels 1550 PSI as maximum, so it is not assigned as a verified working figure.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the storage holder a hose reel?
No. The original model uses a hose/cord holder rather than a reel.
Explore this need in the finder →A basic rinse arrangement, not a borrowed accessory package
The PW1550 is best understood as an earlier basic electric washer with an adjustable fan lance. It is useful when identifying an existing machine or comparing a precisely named original unit. Its hose and cord holder keeps the supplies together for storage, but it is not a hose reel.
The main caution is model-specific equipment. Campbell Hausfeld’s PW1750 manual includes different components. Do not assign that model’s detergent bottle or turbo nozzle to thePW1550 merely because the manuals use similar safety and cleaning language. The PW1550’s own component list is the relevant reference.
Maximum pressure and capacity have limits as comparison tools
TheMay 2007 manual lists 1550 PSI maximum pressure and 1.4 GPM maximum capacity. Those are maximum labels. It does not provide a separate verified working pressure-and-flow pair, so this review does not relabel them as continuous rated output.
That leaves a clear decision for a shopper with a numerical requirement. If documented working pressure or flow is essential, compare a machine whose operating reference actually supplies it. If you are learning how this earlier washer is arranged, the maximum figures can still identify the model without being turned into an overall quality score.
One adjustable fan lance
The original parts list identifies the adjustable fan lance, gun, hose, inlet adapter and storage holders. The operating instructions explain changing spray pattern and intensity by twisting the adjustment at the lance end. Distance and angle also affect the impact on the surface.
Those are application controls, not evidence of an independent pump-pressure regulator. Begin with a broad pattern well away from a hidden test area and approach cautiously. The manual warns against narrow high-impact streams on surfaces susceptible to damage. Do not interpret that warning’s mention of a turbo nozzle as proof that a turbo is supplied with this model.
Why the detergent paragraph is not enough
The booklet discusses how detergents work and the need for suitable consistency. However, its exact model component list does not contain the bottle found in thePW1750 list. A general explanation of chemical cleaning is not a complete documented included detergent system.
For the questionnaire, the reviewed standard package is therefore treated as a rinse arrangement. If included soap application is essential, select a package that actually supplies and documents the bottle, tank or injector configuration. Do not improvise an unapproved attachment based on a neighboring model’s parts diagram.
Power and water remain fixed requirements
The original electrical specification is 120 V and 13 A. The manual identifies a GFCI-protected connection and says not to use an extension cord. Plan the position of the unit around the correct electrical supply, keeping connections dry and clear of the spray area.
The garden hose attaches through the swivel adapter to the inlet. Turn the clean cold-water supply on and purge trapped air as instructed before starting. The inlet temperature limit is 100°F. There is no documented self-priming bucket route: a garden-hose fitting does not make the washer independent of a tap.
An older machine needs a condition check
With an earlier reference, the condition of the actual hose, cord, gun and fittings is part of the decision. Do not repair a damaged high-pressure hose with an improvised patch or bypass a protective electrical component. Use the applicable approved parts and qualified service where required.
The historical warranty text should not be read as current coverage or continuous commercial-duty approval. This review also does not turn the original unit-weight number into a confirmed dry carrying limit. If lifting, included hose reach or commercial scope is essential, confirm those needs against the exact machine before choosing it.
After cleaning, switch off, unplug, close the water supply and release pressure before disconnecting. Protect the drained pump from freezing. ThePW1550 is a useful original rinse reference; a better-documented current package is preferable when soap equipment, a reel or a working-output guarantee is central to the purchase.
