Working around the space

Plan hose reach and moving the cleaner

Plan the route around the thing you will clean. Inlet hose, working hose and power cord each connect a different part of the setup, and the shortest practical connection can decide where the unit must stand.

Distinguish the inlet from the working outlet

The inlet hose brings water to the cleaner. The outlet hose connects the cleaner to its gun. On a handheld power cleaner, a long suction hose may supply the tool while the nozzle is attached directly to the body. That inlet length is not an extension hose between a stationary pump and a gun.

For example, the DCPW550 instructions describe its container-water suction arrangement. Do not read the suction-hose length as the pressure-hose reach of a conventional wheeled washer.

Map where the unit can stand

Imagine working around a vehicle or across a patio. Mark the suitable water connection, electrical outlet if needed, the unit and your route with the gun. Allow for corners and a position that respects the operating instructions rather than stretching a connection taut.

If you need more reach, check the permitted hose and connections for that exact machine. A connector that appears to fit does not establish a safe or supported extension. Keep power-cord decisions within the actual electrical instructions too.

Wheels solve a different problem from a carry handle

Wheels can help reposition a cleaner over a suitable surface. They do not establish that the unit can be lifted safely by its pushing handle or that it will move easily over every step and uneven path.

A documented hand-carry arrangement is useful when the unit must move between locations or into storage. Consider the object you will actually lift: batteries, fuel, water and attachments can add to a dry-tool weight. A reservoir that is convenient beside the job can be heavy when filled.

Choose storage for the whole setup

A hose reel, a hanging hook and loose coiling are different ways to put the hose away. A reel may keep things together, but the details of its actual hose arrangement matter. Do not infer live working-hose support from a storage feature alone.

Include the gun, lance, nozzle tips and inlet equipment in the storage plan. The machine body's dimensions are only part of the space you need. A small unit with awkward loose accessories may suit your cupboard differently from a larger wheeled package.

Use reach and weight limits when they matter

Choose wheels or carrying in the finder, then add a minimum included outlet-hose length or a dry-tool weight limit if it changes your purchase. The result explains that water and power setup rather than awarding a vague portability score. Check the review for the conditions behind each number before planning the final route.
